Wembley: I’d crumble Joshua’s career_Dubois
Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois faced off for the first time by the River Thames ahead of their IBF heavyweight world title fight. During the encounter, Joshua confronted Dubois directly, glaring at him under the sun.
Both fighters are known for their powerful punches, but Dubois has a deeper ambition for this match: he wants to make Joshua quit. “I’ve got to make him quit, break him down. That’s my mindset,” Dubois told Sky Sports, expressing his belief that he can achieve this.
Dubois has faced criticism about his character since his defeat to Joe Joyce, where quitting was suggested. For him, a decisive victory over Joshua would serve as a form of redemption. “I’m turning it round now at this stage of my career. I’ve come through my ups and downs,” he said, adding that he is ready for the fight.
Tensions have been evident, with an earlier promotion encounter nearly escalating into a confrontation. Dubois reflected on the stare down, noting, “I looked into his eyes, and I don’t know, I’m so used to it now. It’s part of the game.”
He believes Joshua’s team is underestimating him. “He’s going to be in for the shock of his life,” Dubois asserted. He welcomes the underdog status, stating, “Everyone wants to see the underdog come through. I love playing that role; make it another night to remember.”
