US STRENGTHENS NIGERIA’S SECURITY EFFORTS WITH FRESH MILITARY SUPPLIES
The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) has delivered fresh military supplies to Nigerian security agencies to support ongoing security operations across the country.
AFRICOM disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, describing the delivery as a reflection of the strong security partnership between the United States and Nigeria.
“US forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasizes our shared security partnership,” the command stated.
Nigeria has continued to grapple with worsening insecurity, including widespread kidnapping, insurgency and terrorist attacks in several parts of the country.
The latest delivery comes weeks after US forces conducted airstrikes on terrorist enclaves in North-West Nigeria on Christmas Day, as part of coordinated efforts to curb insurgency and violent activities.
The renewed military support highlights continued collaboration between both nations aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s capacity to address security challenges and restore stability.
