The Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC) has called on the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) leadership and labor leaders to protect the Congress’s integrity. They criticized Ajaero for allegedly using the NLC for his personal political and legal objectives, emphasizing that the NLC should prioritize workers’ interests.
In a statement by Comrade Israel Uwejeyan, NDYC’s National Coordinator, the group urged Ajaero to collaborate with the government to create policies that benefit all Nigerians, including workers.
The NDYC denounced Ajaero’s use of the NLC for personal gain and condemned attempts to portray the NLC as a victim of government policies, particularly regarding the recent fuel price increase. They criticized the NLC for mixing political affiliations with its activities, such as during Imo State’s gubernatorial elections, which they believe damages the Congress’s reputation.
The NDYC demanded that Ajaero stop using the NLC as a platform for personal and political agendas and instead focus on working with the government to implement beneficial policies for all Nigerians.
