Transparency Drive: NDDC Unveils 2026 Procurement Planning Committee
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has inaugurated its 2026 Procurement Planning Committee as part of efforts to reinforce transparency, accountability, and strict compliance with public procurement regulations.
The inauguration, held in line with the statutory requirements of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), signals the Commission’s early preparations for the 2026 fiscal year and its commitment to due process in the award and execution of contracts.
The Committee is chaired by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, Ph.D., who will oversee the coordination and implementation of procurement plans across departments.
Addressing members at the event, the Commission emphasized that proactive procurement planning remains critical to efficient project delivery and prudent resource management.
“The inauguration of this Committee demonstrates our resolve to ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in strict adherence to established guidelines and in full compliance with the law,” the Commission stated.
By setting up the 2026 Procurement Planning Committee ahead of the new fiscal cycle, the NDDC aims to streamline project execution, enhance value for money, and strengthen public confidence in its operations.
With this step, the Commission reiterates its development-driven mandate in the Niger Delta region.
