With unspeakable sadness and a heart that’s shattered into a million pieces, we announce the passing of a colossus, a giant of a man, Ambassador Chief Pere Ganfo, JP, who departed this mortal coil on Monday, August 5th, 2024, at the UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Akure.
The news of his transition to the great beyond has left the Arogbo Indigenes Development Association (AIDA), Akure, and indeed, the entire community, in a state of shock, grief, and utter devastation.
Barr. Eric Yanyangbini, Esq, PRO, AIDA, captured the mood perfectly when he said, “May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord, amen.” But even those words seem inadequate to express the depth of our sorrow, the magnitude of our loss.
Ambassador Chief Pere Ganfo, JP, was more than just a leader; he was a visionary, a trailblazer, a shining star who illuminated the path for countless others to follow.
His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, a chasm that can never be bridged.
We’re struggling to come to terms with this immense loss, to find the words to express our grief, to reconcile ourselves with the fact that this extraordinary individual is no longer with us.
But even in death, his legacy lives on, his impact continues to inspire, his memory will continue to motivate.
The details of his burial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course. For now, let us mourn, let us weep, let us celebrate the extraordinary life of this remarkable individual.
