The President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, has expressed profound gratitude to the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for his visit to the ongoing IYC Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Speaking during the visit, the IYC President said the entire Ijaw nation was overwhelmed with joy as youths trooped out in large numbers to welcome the Odokorikodo I of the Niger Delta to the project site. He described Tompolo’s presence as “historic and inspiring,” adding that the visit would further accelerate the completion of the project.

Sir Lokpobiri recalled that the IYC had operated for years without a befitting secretariat; a situation that, according to him, limited the Council’s effectiveness. He lauded Tompolo’s decision, alongside High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, to take over the construction of the new secretariat, which he described as a major turning point in the organisation’s history.

The IYC Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex, according to Lokpobiri, will feature a three-storey administrative block, a 2,500-seater capacity conference hall, a youth training centre, a warehouse, a car park, and other modern facilities designed to enhance administrative efficiency and youth development.

Describing Tompolo as “a dependable pillar of support and a true unifier of the Ijaw nation,” the IYC President commended his continued investment in human and infrastructural development across the Niger Delta. He praised Tompolo’s inclusive leadership approach and his consistent efforts in fostering peace, unity, and progress among Ijaw communities.

In every generation, God raises a hero to guide His people. For us in this era, Tompolo stands tall as that hero; a man of integrity and vision who continues to uplift the Ijaw nation,”
Sir Lokpobiri declared, urging Ijaw youths to rally around Tompolo and emulate his spirit of selflessness and unity.

On his part, High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, reiterated that the decision to construct a befitting secretariat for the IYC aligns with Tantita’s corporate social responsibility and its broader mission of community development.

He emphasized the company’s dedication to protecting the Niger Delta environment from pollution caused by illegal bunkering and harmful industrial practices. Pondi urged Ijaw youths to avoid such destructive activities, noting that a clean environment is essential for the people’s health, livelihood, and future sustainability.

The visit, witnessed by jubilant youths and community leaders, marked a renewed sense of unity, pride, and progress within the Ijaw nation.
