The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is focused on improving the lives of Nigerians, regardless of political party affiliation. He made this statement while inaugurating the newly dualized Kuje township road in the Kuje Area Council, Abuja. Wike explained that the government’s commitment to development projects across the six area councils was part of fulfilling Tinubu’s campaign promises to the people of Abuja.
He noted that the people had fulfilled their part by voting for President Tinubu, and now the administration was fulfilling its promise by providing essential infrastructure. While acknowledging that there was still work to be done, Wike assured residents that progress was being made, quoting the saying, “small, small, you will catch a monkey.”

Wike expressed his satisfaction with the positive response from the people of Kuje, emphasizing that the goal of governance is to ensure the happiness of the people. He further explained that the Tinubu administration is a government that listens to its citizens and actively works to meet their needs. He assured that the “renewed hope” agenda was being realized and more projects would be delivered to Kuje with the continued support of the residents.
The minister also shared updates on various projects, including the Kuje township road, which was a response to a request from the Gomo of Kuje, Jibrin Tanko. He highlighted that the Airport Road project, initially awarded at over N59 billion, was being revived under the current administration, and work was progressing. Additionally, he mentioned the dualization of the Kuje to Gwagwalada road and plans to extend the Airport Road to Pegi, with construction already underway.
Wike also announced that Kuje would benefit from the N50 billion allocated in the 2025 budget for water supply to satellite towns. The FCT had also signed an agreement with a Chinese company to provide water to these areas, including Kuje.
Earlier, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr. Abdullahi Sabo, praised Wike for his significant contributions to the development of satellite towns and noted the visible improvements in Kuje. He also made additional requests for road extensions and water supply, particularly linking Kuje to the Lower Usuma Dam for clean water, as residents currently rely on boreholes for their water needs.
