President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), with effect from August 14, 2025.

This development was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) and signed by the board’s secretary, Abdulmalik Jibrin.

Adeyemi’s appointment comes in the wake of the impending retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is set to exit the service on August 11, 2025, having reached the mandatory retirement age of 60.

DCG Adeyemi, who began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, currently holds the position of Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources at the Service Headquarters.

Throughout his career, he has successfully completed all required in-service and command training, as well as several professional courses both locally and internationally.

He is also affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The CDCFIB expressed its gratitude to the outgoing CG, Engr. Olola, for his exceptional service and leadership, acknowledging the reforms and initiatives he introduced during his tenure, which have positively shaped the Federal Fire Service.
