Taraba Governor Appoints 1,075 Aides in a Day
In a remarkable move, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, has appointed 1,075 aides within a single day. This surge in appointments was announced in a statement signed by Chief Gebon Kataps, the Secretary to the Government of the State.
The new appointees will fill various roles, including special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, constituency special assistants, community special assistants, and members of boards, commissions, and agencies within the Taraba State government.
These recent appointments add to the 195 previously approved aides who have yet to receive their portfolios. This brings the total number of aides to Governor Kefas to 1,270. Additionally, Governor Kefas’s cabinet includes 22 commissioners and five special advisers with specific portfolios.
The extensive appointment spree comes amidst growing calls for a reduction in the cost of governance. Opposition parties in the state have yet to issue a response to these developments.
