Sanwo-olu chairs APC campaign council
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its national gubernatorial campaign council for the upcoming November 16 election in Ondo State. The council is chaired by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, with Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Mai Mala Buni (Niger), and other governors leading various sub-committees. Chief Bisi Akande will head the Elders Committee for the election.
During the inauguration, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje urged the members to initiate a house-to-house campaign and handed campaign materials to Sanwo-Olu. He expressed confidence in Sanwo-Olu’s ability to secure victory for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, similar to his success in the previous campaign for the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s re-election.
Ganduje reassured the people that APC’s candidate is a strong choice, referencing Aiyedatiwa’s achievements in his first 10 months in office. He emphasized the need for a coordinated effort between the campaign council and local councils to ensure APC retains control of Ondo State through democratic means. He highlighted the importance of showing respect for the President, who is from the region, and called on party members to mobilize families to support the election effort, ensuring a fair and victorious outcome.
After the inauguration, Sanwo-Olu reminded party members to focus on the party’s logo on the ballot, noting that it is the logo, not the candidate’s name, that will appear.
