The Adamawa State Police Command has achieved another major breakthrough in its efforts to combat violent crime, as officers from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Jada have arrested two suspects linked to the gruesome murder of a 10-year-old boy in Jada Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest of 27-year-old Ibrahim Abdul Malik and 18-year-old Aliyu Abdul Malik, both residents of Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, Jada.

“The two suspects are accused of killing and beheading a 10-year-old Almajiri boy, identified as Abdalla Lawali, from Anguwar Dubai, Jada,” the statement read.

According to Nguroje, the victim was reported missing on March 7, 2025, prompting an ongoing search to locate him.

“Following intelligence linking the suspects to the crime, Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris deployed officers to the scene, where they discovered the decomposed body of the boy inside a sack,” he added.

Further searches at the suspects’ residence led to the discovery of the victim’s severed head, which had been buried in a shallow grave within the compound.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted to the crime, expressed regret, and blamed their actions on the devil.

Condemning the horrific act, CP Morris ordered the case to be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation and prosecution.

He reassured the public that justice would be served and urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activities in their communities to the police.
