The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Oluwatoyin Babalola, has announced that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and other non-sensitive materials have arrived in the state in preparation for the governorship election on November 16.
During a media briefing, Babalola emphasized that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is fully committed to ensuring a smooth and error-free election. She noted that security agencies are also prepared for the off-cycle election and highlighted efforts to combat vote-buying.
Additionally, Babalola mentioned that Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECH) will be deployed to provide technical assistance with the BVAS at all Registration Areas.
“INEC is dedicated to conducting a credible, transparent, and inclusive election in Ondo State. We urge the people to come out on election day, vote peacefully, and engage in the democratic process. We assure you that every vote will count, and we will continue to raise awareness against vote-buying to ensure the success of the upcoming election,” she stated.
