Protest: Arogbo LCDA Chairman, High Chief Molos, Offers Olive Branch to Avoid Chaos

In a high-stakes meeting with various youth and community groups, Hon. Ebimobowei Caleb Molos, Chairman of Arogbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), appealed for calm and urged groups to eschew violence, even as the EndBadGovernance protest rocks Nigeria.

He extended an olive branch, inviting the groups to directly communicate their grievances to him.

Representatives from key organizations including the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Arogbo Ijaw Ibe Youth Council (AIIYC), Yamaha 8 Association, Paddlers Association, Arogbo-Ijaw Tricycle Owners Association, and other respected groups in the LCDA, attended the meeting.

Speakers at the meeting expressed their concerns and grievances, with Mr. Suberi of Yamaha 8 Association praising Hon. Molos for his efforts and urging him to continue speaking on behalf of the kingdom.

Comrade Shoki Gbadia of Arogbo Ijaw Ibe youth council (AIIYC) highlighted critical challenges faced by their community, ” we are worried over the current economic quagmire particularly now that the only such of our daily sustainence “garri” is unaffordable which may propel many people to do otherwise”, while Comrade Tibiebi Doso of Erubiri Youths voiced his displeasure over the ongoing hardships in the country.

Mr. Ebi Salu of Hello Social Club of Arogbo expressed grave concern over the skyrocketing prices of goods, making life unbearable for the masses.

Mrs. Ebiere of Paddlers Association raised concerns about the group’s treatment, noting they are only recognized during election periods.

Icon James of IYC Worldwide issued a seven-day ultimatum to the governor to address their concerns or face a protest.

Hon. Molos assured all organizations that their grievances would be addressed and delivered their messages to the governor effectively.

He emphasized his commitment to maintaining a protest-free atmosphere and upholding the rule of law.

The meeting concluded with a prayer led by Gbolebai Yanyangbini, and Hon. Samuel Jemi, Vice Chairman of Arogbo LCDA, delivered the closing remarks and vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of unity and constructive dialogue.

As the EndBadGovernance protest continues to gain momentum across Nigeria, the people of Arogbo LCDA remain committed to peaceful and constructive engagement, thanks to the leadership of Hon. Ebimobowei Caleb Molos.
