The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has congratulated Nentawe Yilwatda on his emergence as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor also extended his goodwill to other members of the party’s National Working Committee, describing their emergence as a positive step toward strengthening the party’s leadership structure.

In a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Mutfwang described Yilwatda’s emergence through a consensus arrangement as a reflection of the party’s commitment to inclusive and people-oriented leadership.

He noted that the development aligns with the leadership direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly as preparations for the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum.

The governor commended party leaders and stakeholders for fostering unity, tolerance, and internal reforms within the APC, adding that such efforts have strengthened cohesion and created a level playing field for members.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Prof. Goshwe since his adoption in June 2025, citing initiatives aimed at reconciling aggrieved members and repositioning the party for growth.

Mutfwang expressed confidence in Yilwatda’s ability to lead the party effectively, highlighting his background in digital transformation, energy research, and information and communication technology, as well as his experience as a Resident Electoral Commissioner.

According to the governor, these credentials place the new chairman in a strong position to guide the party ahead of future elections.

The governor also appreciated key national figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, for their roles in zoning the party’s chairmanship position to the North Central region, particularly Plateau State.

He expressed optimism that Yilwatda’s leadership would further strengthen unity, promote progressive ideals, and consolidate the party’s vision ahead of the 2027 elections.
