Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDPGF) and Governor of Bauchi State, expressed confidence that the party will secure victory in the upcoming November 16 governorship election in Ondo State. He reassured supporters that there are no internal crises within the PDP.

Speaking at the official campaign launch in Akure, Mohammed asserted that attempts to create discord aim to establish a one-party state in Nigeria, which the PDP will resist. He emphasized, “There is no crisis in the PDP. Those trying to create crises are attempting to undermine our democracy.”

Regarding the election, he praised Ondo as a center of education and declared that all PDP governors are united in their mission. He urged supporters to rally behind the party’s candidate, Agboola Ajayi, stating, “We are determined to overcome hunger and poverty, and we will win in Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, and Lagos States.”

Umar Damagum, the acting National Chairman, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the prevailing hunger in the region and urging the people to reject the ruling APC to improve their situation. He remarked, “The opportunity has come for you to change hunger and poverty in Ondo.”

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde also spoke, warning against vote-buying and stressing the importance of voting for the PDP to avoid further suffering. He pointed out the benefits of PDP governance in states like Oyo and Osun and proclaimed that this marks the beginning of a victory celebration for the PDP in Ondo.

The campaign event was attended by several key party figures, including Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, and various other prominent members of the PDP.
