PDP And its Misdirected Fury Over Governor Ayedatiwa’s Apointment of Aides – Tob Loko (PhD)

Since the appointment of about 344 SAs and SSAs by Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, there have been recriminations from the opposition PDP. Mr Governor’s offense, in their reckoning, is that he cares to have incorporated more deserving individuals into the government. This is unbelievable and has left many puzzled. To the PDP and its co-travelers, the populist Governor just wants to splurge state resources. By their estimation, the resourceful sons, daughters and residents, in some cases, of our dear state just being appointed are indolent vote scavengers. How laughable!

Instead of dissipating energy on brinkmanship, the PDP and its mudslingers are expected to be busy contriving strategies to just exude the strength of opposition since they are too disunited, unco-ordinated, docile or inutile, uninspired, enervescent and devastated to prove any vestige of substantial worth in the forthcoming governorship context.

On a daily basis, members of the PDP defect in droves to the ruling All Progressives Congress. They care less. For years, the PDP insouciantly abdicated Its responsibility of providing viable opposition to the rulling All Progressives Congress. They seem not to realize the debilitating effect of the devastating blow that has been dealt to them by the defection of hundreds of their leaders and members who altruistically provided oxygen for the party, for years, to the APC. I can go on ad infinitum in constructing the litany of their self-inflicted woes.

Since the PDP revilers are oblivious of the simple governance equation that the adept Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has optimized the appointment of about 344 aides to solve, we are left with no option but to register them, on a gratuitous basis, in our progressive ivory tower for proper schooling. Just read on!

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is a pro-masses Governor. The over 300 aides he has just appointed cut across all the 18 Local Government Areas and the 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) comprising legions of communities in the State. This is what inclusive governance is all about. The truth is that the people of Ondo State have been accorded a greater sense of belonging in the administration of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa.

By this number of aides, their touted disconnect, if any, between the government and the good people of Ondo State has been sublimely bridged. And of course, the Governor can now feel the pulse of the people better for more informed decision- making and meticulous execution of people-orientated programmes and projects for the greater good of the people. Imperatively, as feared by the PDP, if these aides decide to mobilize votes for the Governor as a matter of volition and the incumbent APC and its candidate win the forthcoming governorship election, then that is the reward of purposeful governance and it should also be taken as the voice of the people.

What the PDP should know also is that, Governor Aiyedatiwa has liberalized and democratised access to the coveted deliverables of good governance expected of any government of the people by the people and for the people. Regrettably, the PDP and its critics prefer a government run by few corrupt individuals or probably a repulsive and rapacious cabal with the whimsical audacity to plunder our collective patrimony. Governor Aiyedatiwa will not desend into the stinking abyss of such aberration!
