Party crisis won’t affect our win in Ondo_ PDP southwest chairman
Kamorudeen Ajisafe, the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the South-West Zone, has asserted that the ongoing crisis within the party’s national leadership will not hinder its success in the upcoming governorship election in Ondo.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ajisafe expressed optimism about the PDP candidate, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, stating that his chances in the election remain strong. He believes that the leadership issues will be resolved soon and emphasized that Nigerians continue to have confidence in the PDP.
He pointed out that many voters in Ondo trust the PDP to improve their situation, citing the perceived underperformance of the APC. “Our chances are bright,” he said, noting that politicians from other parties are joining the PDP, indicating a desire for the party to regain power. He expressed hope for victory in the election due to the support from the people.
Ajisafe called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to remain neutral and ensure fair play for the benefit of the nation. Regarding the factional groups within the National Working Committee (NWC), he characterized their emergence as a misunderstanding rather than a major crisis, asserting that the party is working hard to ensure these issues do not impact the Ondo election.
