PAP: Delay in Stipend Payments Due to Bank System Glitches, Not Administrative Hurdles

The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has issued a statement addressing the delay in the payment of October stipends to some of its delegates. According to Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, the delay is not due to any fault of the PAP Office, which had already completed its responsibilities for payment processing.

The PAP Office confirmed that it facilitated the stipends’ payment on October 24, following authorization from the PAP Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro. The statement attributed the delay likely to issues within the banking systems of certain affected delegates. PAP assures delegates that these challenges are temporary and should be resolved soon.

The Office emphasized that it remains in communication with the affected banks to ensure the prompt resolution of these issues and the release of funds to the delegates. Delegates who have yet to receive their stipends are advised to remain calm, as their payments are forthcoming once the banking issues are addressed.

The PAP Office reiterates its commitment to prioritizing the timely payment of stipends, underlining the Administrator’s dedication to fulfilling all obligations promptly. The Office also extended its appreciation to the delegates for their cooperation and understanding during this period.
