The summit was organised by the National Association of University Students (NAUS), National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), and National Association of Colleges of Education Students (NACES), with sponsorship from the Nigeria Customs Service.

According to a press release issued by Mr Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, Dr Otuaro was honoured with the ‘Icon of Community Development’ award by Nigerian students during the event.

In his speech, delivered by his Special Assistant on Special Duties, Dinyain Tuebi, Dr Otuaro encouraged students across the country to recognise that their dedication, hard work, and other qualities are vital for building a secure, prosperous, peaceful, and technologically-driven nation.

He emphasised that education and technological empowerment are essential pillars for national growth and development. Dr Otuaro also urged students to take leadership seriously and embody the values of integrity, service, and excellence while making meaningful contributions to nation-building.

He stressed that students are the pillars on which Nigeria’s future depends and must be mindful of their crucial role in the nation’s existence.

Dr Otuaro commended the leadership of NAUS, NAPS, and NACES for organising the summit, noting that the initiative reflects their shared vision of leveraging technology to advance education and future careers.

Expressing gratitude for the award, which he dedicated to President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders working towards peace, stability, and development in Nigeria, Dr Otuaro said, “This summit embodies the spirit of resilience, creativity, and determination that defines the Nigerian student. As you embark on this journey of exploration and learning, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your studies, patriotic in your actions, and committed to the growth and unity of Nigeria.

“The future of our nation lies in your hands, and it is through your dedication and hard work that we will continue to build a prosperous, peaceful, and technologically advanced Nigeria.”

In his address, Marshal Obaji, President of NAUS, explained that the summit aimed to address the technological skills gap among Nigerian students and graduates while providing mentorship, innovation, and networking opportunities in emerging tech fields.
