The Director General of the Tinubu-Shettima Ambassadors, Prince Dele Oyelude, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s public affirmation of Vice President Kashim Shettima’s loyalty has unsettled opposition and coalition political parties in Nigeria.
Oyelude, in a statement on Thursday, described the development as a “headache” to opposition groups, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), whom he accused of clandestinely plotting to discredit the vice president.
The remarks followed President Tinubu’s birthday message to Shettima, in which he lauded his deputy’s loyalty and competence. “I deeply appreciate your vibrancy, loyalty, partnership, and support as my deputy. In choosing you then as my partner, I selected competence and other qualities that Nigeria could depend on,” Tinubu said in the release.
Oyelude commended the president for reaffirming Shettima’s commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing the vice president as a “workaholic and dependable partner” in governance.
He urged opposition parties to abandon what he termed “divisive politics” and instead embrace reformative policies and constructive contributions to national progress. According to him, Tinubu’s recognition of Shettima’s steadfastness has further solidified confidence in the APC-led administration.
