Comrade Matthew Tunemi Kingsley, President of the Opuba Youths, has appealed to the Ondo State Government to urgently intervene in the growing infrastructural challenges facing Opuba Community, describing the situation as painful and disheartening.

Speaking with Arogbo-Ibe Voice Reporters, Comrade Kingsley decried what he termed the continued neglect of the community in the provision of basic infrastructure since the conclusion of the last general elections. He noted that Opuba Community had given massive electoral support to the present administration but has since been left in a state of abandonment.

According to him, the most critical needs of the community include the construction of footbridges to ensure safe movement of residents, the installation of street lights to improve security, and the provision of functional borehole water to address persistent water shortages.

“Opuba Community is seriously suffering. After voting massively for this present government, it is deeply saddening that our people are now experiencing abandonment. We are calling on the Ondo State Government to come to our aid and urgently address these critical needs,” he said.

The youth leader stressed that the absence of these essential amenities has continued to affect the daily lives, safety, and overall wellbeing of residents, particularly women, children, and the elderly.

Comrade Kingsley further noted that timely intervention by the state government would not only alleviate the hardship faced by the people but also restore their confidence in governance and reaffirm the importance of rural communities in the development agenda of the state.

He therefore urged the Ondo State Government and relevant agencies to treat the appeal with urgency, emphasizing that meaningful infrastructural development remains vital to the safety, dignity, and sustainable growth of Opuba Community.
