He highlighted that with the university’s strong academic performance, both students and graduates are well-equipped to compete at national and international levels.

The VC noted that when he assumed office on February 23, 2022, the university was struggling but has since been transformed into a research-focused institution, with no history of strikes under his leadership. He added that the number of faculties had increased from three to seven, with various new courses introduced.

Plans are also in place to launch new schools, including the School of Maritime, Transport and Logistics, School of Pharmacy, and School of Basic Medical Sciences, along with programs in Anatomy, Physiology, and Physiotherapy, by September.

Prof. Ologunorisa expressed gratitude to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for restoring electricity to Ondo South, which has greatly benefited students and researchers. He also called on the state government to expedite the release of funds allocated to OAUSTECH and other state institutions.

Additionally, the VC sought support from the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), requesting that they complete the abandoned hostel projects at OAUSTECH to improve student accommodation.
