OKORO–OGODIO FAMILY ANNOUNCES ‘IGBE-BUWO’ CEREMONY IN HONOUR OF LATE PATRIARCH, GEN. SUPT. SNR. AP W.F. OKUNRINMETA
The Okoro–Ogodio Family of Arogbo–Ibe has formally announced the forthcoming “Igbe-Buwo” ceremony in honour of their late patriarch, Gen. Superintendent SNR. AP W.F. Okunrinmeta, who passed away on September 15, 2023, at the remarkable age of 104.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family, the ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Okoro’s Quarters, Awodikuro, beginning at 8:00 p.m. and continuing till dawn.
The “Igbe-Buwo” rite, described as solemn and culturally significant, is organised to celebrate the life, legacy, and enduring contributions of the late elder, who was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to many.
Family members noted that the ceremony will provide an opportunity for relatives, friends, well-wishers, associates, and members of the public to gather in unity and reflect on the impactful life of the centenarian patriarch.
The family has extended an open invitation to the community and beyond to participate in the event as they honour his memory in accordance with tradition.
