No Amount of Sabotage Can Derail Otuaro’s Mission to Rejuvenate the PAP—Ijaw Youths Network

The Ijaw Youths Network (IYN) has once again warned detractors, frustrated by the rising profile of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, to cease their renewed mudslinging in the media.

The IYN urged Otuaro to disregard paid agents aiming to undermine his commendable efforts to refocus the PAP on the Niger Delta.

In a statement on Wednesday by its President, Frank Ebikabo, and Secretary, Federal Ebiaridor, the IYN expressed concern over repeated attacks on Otuaro’s reputation by unscrupulous elements with no goodwill for the region.

According to the IYN, the insinuations and ill-fated attempts to link a purportedly leaked document from the Department of State Services (DSS) to the PAP Administrator is a farce, unworthy of serious consideration.

The group emphasized that the PAP office is neither an annex nor an extension of the DSS, highlighting the security agency’s effectiveness and capacity to uncover any such infractions involving the PAP.

The IYN called on Niger Deltans of good conscience to condemn the baseless conspiracy against Otuaro, orchestrated by a faceless group of self-interested individuals exploiting public concern for nefarious acts.

The group praised Otuaro’s initiatives since his appointment in March 2024, asserting that President Bola Tinubu made the right choice by entrusting a grassroots stakeholder with the leadership of the PAP.

“We urge those accustomed to extorting free money from the PAP through the blackmail of leaders to desist.

“We commend Dr. Dennis Otuaro for his productive engagements with various segments of Niger Delta stakeholders, including traditional rulers, women and youth groups, and ex-agitators.

“The people of the Niger Delta are eager for the administrator to effectively utilize available resources, especially to make the PAP scholarship scheme more impactful in the region,” the IYN added.

The group advised Otuaro to remain focused on his goal of making a significant impact in the region, insisting that failure is not an option.

They further pointed out that a recent report, in which 21 prominent groups from the region declared their support for Otuaro, clearly indicates that he is on the right track and should maintain his legacy of success.

The IYN also called on Ijaw youths to denounce the dishonorable attempts to drag the name of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, into a nonexistent dispute.
