The Niger Delta Renaissance Movement (NDRM), led by youth advocate Oghenekaro Edor (National President) and Alhaji Lutegbe (Secretary), has congratulated Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), on his 60th birthday. The group praised Kyari for using his leadership role to foster peace and stability in the Niger Delta region. They highlighted that Kyari’s decision to award the security surveillance contract to firms like Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has brought sustainable peace among the region’s youth.

The NDRM also acknowledged Kyari’s efforts in revitalizing the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries, which had previously been non-functional. They credited his administrative skill for the refineries’ turnaround, which has created job opportunities and contributed to regional and national economic growth. The statement celebrated Kyari as a dedicated and reliable administrator, noting that while many of his peers have retired, he continues to excel in managing the nation’s oil sector.

Lastly, they called for priority to be given to local residents in the recruitment process at the refineries.
