Nigerian Arrested At Pakistan With Cocaine
According to The Express Tribune, the suspect was discovered to have 38 cocaine-filled pills concealed in his stomach after arriving in Pakistan via Dubai after traveling from Nigeria. Following an Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) raid at Lahore International Airport that discovered hidden cocaine capsules, a Nigerian national is being charged with drug smuggling.
The suspect was discovered to have 38 cocaine-filled pills concealed in his stomach after arriving in Pakistan via Dubai after traveling from Nigeria. A representative for the ANF stated that 608 grams of cocaine in total had been found within the capsules.
This arrest highlights a concerning and fast-growing trend in international drug smuggling, in which foreign nationals are major players. With 10 people arrested in 2023 and an astounding 4.811 kg of contraband recovered, Nigerian nationals have been disproportionately represented in these cases, underscoring the critical need for more international collaboration. Law enforcement organizations have conducted seven intense operations so far this year, and they have produced noteworthy outcomes in the battle against drug trafficking.
In particular, these actions have resulted in the successful capture of eight Nigerian nationals and the significant confiscation of 11.420 kg of illegal drugs.
