NDNAF: Nationwide Protest Could Be Hijacked, Stay Away

The Niger Delta Nonviolence Agitators Forum (NDNAF) has advised residents of the Niger Delta to reconsider participating in the planned nationwide protest, citing concerns about potential violence and political motivations.

In a statement, NDNAF National President Comrade Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli expressed solidarity with Nigerian youths regarding their grievances but cautioned against a protest that could be co-opted by malicious actors.

NDNAF pointed to the 2012 anti-subsidy protest, led by Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu and General Muhammadu Buhari, as an instance of a protest with political implications. The organization also suggested that the current protest has ties to Northerners, advising those from the South to abstain.

The NDNAF advocated for dialogue as the preferred method for resolving issues. They encouraged Nigerians, especially youths, to engage in discussions with authorities, drawing a parallel to David’s decision not to harm King Saul despite having the opportunity.

The statement emphasized the importance of caution and nonviolent methods of addressing grievances, urging residents of the Niger Delta to follow David’s example and avoid retaliatory actions.
