In a striking demonstration of regional solidarity and visionary leadership, top representatives of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) proudly flew the flag of Ondo State at the grand celebration of the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) 25th anniversary, held in Akure, the state capital.

Standing in for the OSOPADEC Chairman, Hon. Prince Biyi Poroye, were distinguished board members Hon. Bayo Anifowose, Comrade Lawrence Tibi-ebi Steven, and other key figures of the Commission. Their presence did not go unnoticed, as they took the spotlight alongside high-profile dignitaries, industry stakeholders, and development partners from across the Niger Delta region.

The event, marking a quarter-century of the NDDC’s impact in oil-producing states, served as a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment to the future of the Niger Delta. For OSOPADEC, it was a platform to reaffirm its resolve to elevate the living standards of communities in Ondo State’s oil belt.

Speaking at the high-powered gathering, Hon. Anifowose lauded the NDDC for its “unwavering contributions to regional transformation,” and declared OSOPADEC’s readiness to scale up its interventions through stronger synergy with sister agencies.

“We are here not just as guests, but as partners in progress,” he asserted. “Hon. Poroye sends his goodwill and assures the people of Ondo South that OSOPADEC will not relent in delivering impactful, legacy-driven projects that change lives.”

Echoing this sentiment, Comrade Lawrence Tibi-ebi Steven described the silver jubilee as a wake-up call for deeper collaboration and a more strategic approach to development.

“This milestone is a reminder that we must accelerate action, break barriers, and deliver on the promises made to the Niger Delta people,” he said. “OSOPADEC stands ready to champion that charge.”

The delegation’s active participation underscored the Commission’s growing influence and credibility in regional development matters. Their engagements throughout the event highlighted OSOPADEC’s push for innovation, inclusion, and people-focused policies under the leadership of Hon. Prince Biyi Poroye.

As the curtain falls on the NDDC’s Silver Jubilee celebration, one thing is clear: OSOPADEC is not merely a spectator in the Niger Delta conversation, it is a driver of change, a force to reckon with, and a beacon of hope for the people of Ondo State.
