MRAI Warns of Regional Destabilization as Detractors Launch Unfounded Attacks on Dr. Dennis Otuaro

The Movement for the Rights of Arogbo-Ibe (MRAI) has strongly called upon detractors of Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), to cease attempts aimed at diverting his focus from the critical task of developing the Niger Delta region. The group has dismissed recent allegations circulating in the media, labeling them as unfounded and aimed at distracting Dr. Otuaro from his leadership responsibilities.

According to MRAI, the allegations, including purported ties to a long-leaked document, are baseless and part of a broader agenda meant to derail the progress achieved under Dr. Otuaro’s administration. The group expressed confidence that the well-informed populace of the Niger Delta would not be swayed by such falsehoods.

“The Niger Delta is far too informed for such baseless accusations to gain traction,” MRAI asserted in a statement, describing the claims as a “laughable” attempt to tarnish the reputation of Dr. Otuaro.

MRAI also emphasized that the Presidential Amnesty Programme operates independently, with no connections to the Department of State Services (DSS) or the alleged document leaks. Furthermore, they called on security agencies to closely monitor individuals spreading these false narratives, warning that such actions could destabilize the region for personal gain.

In praising Dr. Otuaro’s achievements, particularly in reforming the Amnesty Programme, the group urged him to stay focused on his mission and remain undeterred by what they termed “spurious allegations.” They emphasized that his continued leadership is essential to resolving the challenges of the Niger Delta.

MRAI further underscored the importance of constructive criticism, encouraging opposition voices to base their critiques on facts rather than engage in smear campaigns. The group affirmed that Dr. Otuaro’s administration has already brought substantial improvements to the region and warned that any attempt to undermine his efforts would be counterproductive to the progress being made.

Following an independent investigation, MRAI concluded that the accusations against Dr. Otuaro are without merit and are solely intended to hinder the developmental strides currently being undertaken under his leadership.
