As a body committed to the rights and welfare of the Arogbo-Ibe people and the broader Niger Delta region, we appreciate the NDDC’s efforts to foster youth development. The Niger Delta has witnessed instances where developmental initiatives were hijacked by privileged individuals, depriving the rightful beneficiaries of their opportunities. To avoid a recurrence, we urge the NDDC to publicly release the official list of beneficiaries through verifiable channels and allow for public scrutiny of the selection process or you face face mother of all protest.

We also recall the NDDC’s September 10, 2024, statement, in which it dismissed fraudulent lists circulating on social media and reassured the public of its commitment to transparency. In line with this promise, we expect immediate action to make the selection process and fund disbursement open and accessible to all stakeholders.

The people of Arogbo-Ibe and the Niger Delta at large deserve clarity on how public funds are allocated. We trust that the NDDC, under Dr. Ogbuku’s leadership, will take urgent steps to uphold integrity, fairness, and accountability in this initiative.

We anticipate a swift response and engagement on this matter.
