MRAI Coordinator Criticizes Former IYC Spokesperson’s Remarks on Governor Diri.
The Movement for the Rights of Arogbo-Ibe (MRAI) Coordinator has issued a sharp rebuke to Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe, the former spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), urging him to focus on personal growth rather than seeking attention by criticizing Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.
Hosea T. Ebikontei, the Coordinator of MRAI, condemned Ekerefe’s recent comments, in which he advised the governor to address youth unemployment in the state. Ebikontei emphasized that differences between Governor Diri and NDDC’s Dr. Samuel Ogbuku are best resolved without external interference. He criticized Ekerefe for allegedly using his former position to seek attention and financial gain.
“Leaders have their disagreements but eventually come to terms. Interjecting in such matters only risks tarnishing one’s reputation,” Ebikontei noted. He advised Ekerefe to avoid making disrespectful remarks on the governor and urge him to stay off when Niger Delta leaders as their misunderstanding.
