Man U to sign Manuel Ugarte in €42M bid

Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, Manchester United and Paris St. Germain have agreed to a fee of €50 million (£42.29 million). There is also a possibility of 10 million euros (£8.46 million) in further payments with this arrangement.

Having had their eye on the player since the transfer market opened, the English club may shortly make an official move for him. Ugarte’s decision, nevertheless, is mostly influenced by the circumstances surrounding Scott McTominay, whom Manchester United hopes to trade to the Italian team Napoli.

According to sources, Erik Ten Hag has agreed to the Scottish player’s sale even if it does not ensure him a starting position in the midfield. As a result, Ugarte agreed to sign a contract with Manchester United that had a 10% sell-on clause. The Uruguayan made 37 appearances after joining PSG last year, at which time he won one French Ligue 1 championship.

Conversely, Scott McTominay has made 178 appearances for Manchester United since joining the team as a young player, scoring 19 goals.
