Honourable Abiola Makinde, representing the Ondo East/West federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has praised former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko for his significant contributions to the state’s development. In a statement released to the press on Thursday, he highlighted Mimiko’s transformative leadership and its positive impact on individuals and communities.

Makinde noted, “It’s clear why your influence endures even after leaving office years ago; your leadership has been marked by purposeful initiatives rooted in strong values and well-thought-out solutions.” He commended Mimiko’s achievements in the health sector, such as the establishment of specialized institutions like the Mother and Child Hospital and the Gani Fawehinmi Diagnostic Center, which have brought the state notable recognition, including a WHO study on the Abiye safe motherhood program.

He expressed gratitude for the leadership development initiatives that Mimiko spearheaded, which have cultivated many successful leaders across various fields. Makinde credited Mimiko for his own political journey, stating, “My entry into politics as the caretaker chairman of Ondo West Local Government was at your encouragement, providing me with vital insights into governance and community service.”

In celebration of Mimiko’s birthday, Makinde, alongside his wife and supporters, extended warm wishes for a joyful birthday and continued impactful contributions to society.
