LG POLL: Gov Aiyedatiwa Votes, Says LG Autonomy Will Enhance Grassroots Development

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Saturday exercised his civic duty in the state’s local government election, emphasizing the importance of local government autonomy in fostering grassroots development.

Governor Aiyedatiwa cast his vote at Polling Unit 5, Ugbo Ward 4, in Ilaje Local Government Area. Speaking to journalists afterward, he described the election as a crucial step toward strengthening the local government system and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to its effective governance in line with the law.

Commending the seamless conduct of the election, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) for organizing a credible poll. He also expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their active participation in the democratic process.

“The autonomy of local governments is vital to achieving the grassroots development we all desire,” Aiyedatiwa remarked. “We are committed to ensuring that local governments function effectively, delivering essential services and programs that directly impact the lives of our citizens.”

The Governor’s participation in the election further underscores his administration’s dedication to promoting democracy and development at the grassroots level.
