The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Ondo State chapter, has given the state government a fresh seven-day strike notice over its failure to implement the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) for Assembly workers.
The notice was contained in a letter released on Tuesday in Akure, jointly signed by the state chairman, Helen Oluwafemi, and secretary, Akinyemi Adeyemi, and submitted to the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji.
According to the letter, the latest ultimatum follows the expiration of previous 21-day and 14-day notices issued on August 22 and September 23, 2025, respectively. PASAN accused the government of showing insensitivity to the welfare concerns of workers in the State House of Assembly and the Assembly Service Commission.
The association said it had explored every legitimate means to get the salary structure implemented but had no choice left but to issue a final warning.
The seven-day notice, which began on Monday, will end on Sunday, October 19, 2025, If the government fails to act, PASAN warned that its members would embark on an indefinite strike.
“If the Ondo State Government fails, refuses, or neglects to meet our demands by implementing CONLESS for our members, we will have no option but to proceed on indefinite industrial action,” the letter read.
The union, however, noted that it remains law-abiding and committed to maintaining peace in the state but urged the government to act swiftly to prevent a total shutdown of legislative activities.
