The Federal Capital Territory Police have detained Abdul Rasheed Muhammad, a Nigerian Navy personnel, in connection with the murder of Aminu, the son of former Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral I. I. Ibrahim (retd). This development was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, Benneth Igweh. The Commissioner also disclosed that the car had been recovered.

It was also disclosed by the commissioner that the vehicle had been found. He stated that Aminu Ibrahim, the son of former Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral I. I. Ibrahim (retd), was killed in a robbery in the Maitama district of Abuja around two weeks ago, and his Prado SUV was taken. I’m here to tell you that the murder was done by Abdul Rasheed Muhammad, a Nigerian Navy member who is currently in service. The Prado Jeep has been found, and he has admitted to the crime.

Muhammad, the accused murderer, claimed to be a Navy marine assigned at the previous Chief of Naval Staff’s home. “I work at the house,” he declared. At about 11:30 at night, he wanted to go out. He claimed to require protection. So I took my rifle and followed him. He appeared to be heading to make a purchase when he paused to check his ATM along the route.

“I had assumed that I would take him to a market or someplace else. I took the car, shot him, and drove off when I emerged from the other door. I serve in the Navy as a seaman and a guard. He didn’t do anything to me; I killed him in order to take his vehicle.
