A coalition of youth groups in Kebbi State has organized a peaceful protest to show their support for the government. They announced their decision to withdraw from the planned nationwide protest against President Bola Tinubu’s administration, which was scheduled for August 1.

During the demonstration in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, one of the leaders, Mohammed Argungu, stated that the youth of Kebbi would not participate in the planned protest.

“Kebbi is a peaceful state, and we live in harmony with one another. Therefore, we do not want to invite chaos into our dear state. We want to be patient and give this administration time to address the problems,” Argungu said.

He emphasized that the coalition of Kebbi Youth Organisations would not take part in the nationwide protest.

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, received the protesters. They expressed their appreciation for the youth’s bold step in sustaining the prevailing peace in the state. According to them, the actions of the youth will create a platform for dialogue to find solutions to the current economic challenges.

They urged the youth to always embrace dialogue in any disagreement instead of confrontation.
