JUST IN: Royal Drums Roll as NDDC MD, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, Emerges Pere Se-Bobo of Ogu Kingdom
Royal drums, chants, and the rhythms of tradition filled the air in Ogu Kingdom as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku, was formally installed as the Pere Se-Bobo of Ogu Kingdom.
The historic moment followed Dr Ogbuku’s colourful participation in the revered Omuaru Boat Regatta, a sacred cultural rite that precedes chieftaincy installations in Ogu tradition. From the waterfront, he proceeded to the palace of the Amanyanabo of Ogu Kingdom, where the Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs completed the installation ceremony.
The prestigious title was conferred in recognition of Dr Ogbuku’s visionary leadership and the remarkable developmental strides recorded by the NDDC across the Niger Delta under his stewardship.
The ceremony attracted traditional rulers, chiefs, youth leaders, and community members, blending culture with celebration and reaffirming the strong link between traditional institutions and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
The installation marks a significant cultural honour and further cements Dr Ogbuku’s growing influence as a development-driven leader in the region.
