The recent policy meeting in Abuja, led by the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has established a minimum benchmark score of 140 for university admissions.

This score is a baseline that no university can go below, although individual institutions can set higher thresholds. Notably, universities like Pan-Atlantic University, Covenant University, Obafemi Awolowo University, and the University of Lagos have recommended benchmark scores of 200 and above.

Prof. Oloyede emphasized that JAMB does not set cut-off marks but rather ensures that institutions adhere to this minimum benchmark score.
