HARMONIOUS CONDUCT: THE NEED FOR PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE IN IYC, LAGOS CHAPTER
Good day fellow patriots in the struggle for resource control and self-determination by all means necessary.
Peaceful coexistence is fundamental and sine qua non to building a harmonious and thriving society.
It requires individuals and council members to cohabitate together with respect, empathy, and mutual understanding.
Allow me to open the history box of the intent of this Clarion call.
Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro is Nigeria’s first Secessionist and the most celebrated hero in ijaw history, his dreams perhaps were for resource control and self-determination which was aimed at bringing the development we all crave for in the Niger delta, but unfortunately, his life and struggle to actualise his hallowed dreams were ephemeral.
Boro’s agitation was never aimed at destroying his brothers but for peaceful coexistence which will bring about growth and development in ijaw ethnic nationality and Niger delta as a whole. It is against this backdrop that, may I draw your attention to IYC, Lagos Chapter, especially as the hands of the clock of the election ticks faster..
IYC LAGOS CHAPTER ELECTION 2025
An election that is aimed at electing patriotic leaders to fulfill Boro’s dream is not meant to be a do or die affair. Let’s channel our God’s given energy in peace-building.
Drawing from my experience in a keenly contested national election, which brought me to serve as Assistant National Secretary General without ruffling feathers and now Acting National Secretary General of IYC Worldwide, a universally revered socio-cultural organisation Nigeria and the entire sub Saharan Africa. I urge all screened candidates and delegates to conduct themselves peacefully and lawfully.
I have contributed immensely in human capital development and unity among the Niger Delta youths and this initiative was hinged on the fact that, the advancement of youths is as good as building a nation .
Let’s sink all our differences and build a better Ijaw nation.
May I use this medium to appeal to all screened candidates and delegates who are to participate in the forthcoming IYC lagos chapter election to be peaceful and law abiding in their conduct, and I look forward to a peaceful and violence- free election.
God bless ijaw Nation.
Yours in struggle
Amb. Egelu Edise-emi Bright
A.g National Secretary General
