Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Egbema Clan to Hold Congress in Ofunama on April 5, 2025

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Egbema Clan, covering communities in Edo and Delta States, has scheduled its congress for Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Ofunama Community. The meeting, set for 2 PM, will bring together key stakeholders, traditional leaders, and youth representatives to deliberate on pressing issues affecting the Egbema people. Additionally, to mark one year in office of the current clan leadership, a get-together will be held at the end of the interactive session.

With the motto “Resource Control by All Means Necessary,” the congress will focus on resource management, development strategies, and youth empowerment. Discussions will also cover the socio-political and economic challenges facing the Egbema Clan and the broader Niger Delta region.

In a statement on Friday, March 21, 2025, Comr. Engr. Lawoni Dumofaye, Chairman of IYC Egbema Clan, emphasized the significance of the gathering, urging all stakeholders to participate actively. According to him, the congress will serve as a strategic platform for shaping the collective future of the Egbema people.
