Ijaw Identity Meets Governance as Arogbo-Ijaw Ibe Pavilion Project, Awarded by Gov. Douye Diri, Takes Off Under the Agadagba’s Watch
In a landmark development for the people of Arogbo, the Agadagba/Paramount Ruler of Arogbo-Ijaw Ibe, His Imperial Majesty, Pere Zacchaeus Doubra Egbunu Esq., (JP, FCAI, LL.M) Opukutu III, has officially flagged-off the construction of a 1000-seater Pavilion, a project awarded to the Kingdom by His Excellency Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, and was facilitated by Senior High Chief (Hon.) Dr. Kingsley Kemebradigha Kuku, Esq.
During the ceremony, the Monarch commended Governor Diri, describing him as a leader who is “proudly Ijaw at heart and soul,” and acknowledged his commitment to empowering Ijaw communities through tangible developmental projects.
The award of the contract to Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom was made possible through the intervention of SHC (Hon.) Dr. Kingsley Kemebradigha Kuku, Esq., former Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), who acted as the facilitator between Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom and the Bayelsa State Government.
The pavilion, set to be a central hub for community gatherings, meetings, and cultural events, is expected to boost local development, create opportunities, and strengthen community cohesion.
The flag-off ceremony, which drew dignitaries and community leaders, marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s infrastructural development, showcasing a successful collaboration between the Bayelsa State Government, local leadership, and community stakeholders.
