The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of the newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel, alongside seventeen Commissioners of Police, to key departments, commands, and formations across the country.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.
According to the statement, the redeployment exercise is aimed at strengthening operational capacity, enhancing leadership effectiveness, improving public safety, and boosting service delivery within the Nigeria Police Force.
As part of the directive, DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel has been deployed to head the Force Intelligence Department (FID).

The statement quoted IGP Egbetokun as charging the deployed senior officers to bring their wealth of knowledge and experience to bear in their new assignments.
He further urged them to provide purposeful and result-oriented leadership, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct, and ensure strict adherence to the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
