In a bold and emotionally charged resignation letter dated October 1, 2025, addressed to the Ward Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Arogbo Ward II, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Icon-James Tam announced his immediate withdrawal from the party, describing it as “a political cadaver” that has lost its vitality and moral compass.
Tam, who recently suffered the tragic loss of his wife and son during childbirth, stated that his decision was made with deep conviction and in honour of the values he and his late wife shared. He lamented that the PDP, once a formidable political force, has “degenerated into a hollow carcass of its former self,” plagued by “interminable crises and flawed congresses.

I Quit: PDP—Now a Political Cadaver.
I write to tender, with immediate effect, my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
This resolution, though taken in the midst of my personal bereavement over the tragic loss of my wife and son during childbirth, is one I believe she would endorse even in the celestial realms, for she had always been a steadfast partner in my political choices.
The PDP, in my considered judgment, has degenerated into a hollow carcass of its former self. As once poignantly described by a former ondo State Publicity Secretary when he bowed out that the party was languishing in the Intensive Care Unit, inching towards the morgue. His assertion was no hyperbole; today, the party has indeed been wheeled into the morgue, politically lifeless, and no longer a viable refuge for any budding visionary desirous of genuine public service. The interminable internecine crises and the charade of flawed congresses have further ossified its demise, particularly at Ese-odo and at the national echelon.
On this premise, I renounce my membership and shall henceforth scout for a sturdier, more formidable platform upon which to actualize my aspiration of rendering consequential governance to our people. In due course, I shall unveil my next political voyage.
Permit me, however, to express profound gratitude for the opportunities availed me under the PDP banner. The experiences, exposures, and networks garnered remain indelible. My stewardship spanned,
