The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has refuted reports circulating on social media that he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, Wike dismissed the rumours as false, emphasizing that he remains in good health and actively discharging his duties.
“I did not collapse. I have been attending to my responsibilities, and I find it amusing how people create baseless stories,” he stated.
The former Rivers State governor attributed the speculation to political mischief-makers who, he claimed, are determined to spread false narratives about his well-being.
Meanwhile, his media team has also released a statement affirming that Wike has not experienced any health crisis and continues to perform his official functions without interruption.
The rumour had gained traction earlier in the week, with unverified sources alleging that the FCT Minister had suffered a medical emergency. However, with this clarification, Wike seeks to put an end to the speculations.
Observers note that the minister has been actively engaging in various projects and meetings, showing no signs of illness.
