HOW CAN APC GOVERNOR FUND US? – ADC DENIES CLAIM ABDULRAZAQ IS BANKROLLING PARTY IN KWARA

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State has dismissed allegations that it is being secretly funded by the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The denial follows claims by a socio-political group identified as the Kwara North Development Commission (KNDC), which alleged that the governor was covertly financing the ADC despite being the leader of the APC in the state.

Reacting to the allegation, a chieftain of the ADC in Kwara State and former Nigerian Ambassador to Japan, Prof. Isa Gana, described the claim as false and baseless.

Gana, who is also a former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, said he was unaware of the existence of the group making the accusation, questioning its credibility.

He argued that the allegation lacked logic, stressing that it would be unreasonable for a sitting APC governor to sponsor a rival political party seeking to unseat his own party.

“How can a governor who leads the APC in Kwara State be funding a party that is determined to wrest power from his party?” he asked.

Gana maintained that the ADC is independently mobilising across the state, driven by its members and supporters, with the aim of providing Kwarans with an alternative political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the party has no affiliation or financial arrangement with the Kwara State Government, adding that its activities are funded through internal support and grassroots mobilisation.

He urged the group behind the allegation to desist from spreading what he described as unfounded claims, reiterating that the ADC remains focused on strengthening its structure and expanding its reach in the state.
