In a stirring tribute steeped in history, struggle, and the undying spirit of the Niger Delta, High Chief Prince Toikumoh Toboulayefa ThankGod, Torukurowei of Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom and Chief Executive Officer of Threelions Sakajoe International Security Limited (TSISL), has saluted Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, fondly known as Tompolo, as he marks his 55th birthday.

In his message, the Arogbo-Ijaw-born High Chief did not merely celebrate a man, but a movement, one forged in the creeks, baptised in resistance, and sustained by the relentless quest for justice and dignity for the Ijaw people and the wider Niger Delta. He described Tompolo as more than a leader; a living chronicle of the Niger Delta struggle, a fearless freedom fighter who stood when the tides were rough, a commander who transformed agitation into structured security, and a generational architect whose legacy is etched in the sands and waters of the region.

Tracing the journey from the days of unrest and marginalisation to the present era of strategic security engagement, The Three Lions noted that Tompolo’s evolution reflects the broader history of the Niger Delta itself, a people once pushed to the edge, now reclaiming their space with intelligence, structure, and purpose. He emphasised that the operations of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) under Tompolo’s leadership have not only curbed piracy and illegal oil bunkering but have rewritten the narrative of the creeks, from zones of conflict to corridors of economic revival and guarded prosperity.

According to him, the rivers that once echoed with fear now flow with renewed hope, as fishermen, traders, and coastal dwellers reclaim their livelihoods under a more secure and coordinated system, one built on local knowledge, resilience, and an unbreakable bond with the land.

“Today, we do not just celebrate a birthday, we celebrate a legacy of resistance turned into responsibility, of struggle transformed into structure. Tompolo remains a pride of the Ijaw nation, a builder of generations, and a symbol of what it means to fight, to rise, and to rebuild,” he declared.

In a tone both emotional and radical, the High Chief called on stakeholders across the Niger Delta to recognise and support indigenous security frameworks that understand the terrain, the people, and the history of the struggle. He stressed that true peace in the Niger Delta cannot be divorced from justice, inclusion, and the empowerment of those who have paid the price for the region’s survival.

Offering prayers, Toboulayefa wished Tompolo continued strength, wisdom, and longevity, affirming that his story remains a guiding light for present and future generations of Niger Delta defenders.

Your life is symbolic that the spirit of the Niger Delta cannot be broken. From the creeks of resistance to the corridors of strategic security, you have shown that true leadership is forged in sacrifice. As you mark 55, may your fire never dim, and may your legacy continue to shake the foundations of injustice while building pillars of hope for our people,” he concluded.
