Gunmen Abducts Deeperlife Member, Demands N5m Ransom

Suspected kidnappers have abducted three members of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The victims were reportedly taken while returning from a Bible study session around the Kasemola area of Ogbese. According to local sources, the assailants appeared to have laid an ambush, seizing the individuals and taking them into a nearby forest.

A church member, who asked not to be named, confirmed the incident in a message saying, “Good morning, beloved. Please join us in prayer. Three of our members were abducted yesterday (Monday) after Bible study at Kasemola in the Ogbese area.”

Church members are reportedly relying on spiritual support while also seeking help from security agencies. The matter has already been reported to both the police and the Amotekun Corps.

A source revealed that the kidnappers have reached out to the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of ₦5 million for their release.

Speaking on the situation, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, said security teams have been deployed to the area. He added that officers are currently searching the surrounding forests in an effort to locate the captives and apprehend the suspects.
