Governor Ododo rallies with Aiyedatiwa in Ebira community
As the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State approaches, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged the Ebira community in Ondo to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to continue the positive achievements of the APC government. This call was made in a press statement by his media adviser, Ismaila Isah.
Ododo, who serves as the deputy chairman of the election management and strategy committee for the Ondo State Governorship Election Campaign Council, made his appeal at an APC rally at Mobil Roundabout in Owo town on Saturday. He referred to Ondo as a second home for the Ebira people and encouraged them to replicate the overwhelming support shown during the 2020 gubernatorial election.

He thanked the community for their past support and expressed confidence in their large presence in areas like Owo, Ifo, and Ose local government areas, asking them to spread the message to others. He urged voters to back the APC and Aiyedatiwa on election day, promising that their administration would enhance infrastructure, education, healthcare, sanitation, agricultural development, and security in Ondo State.
Governor Ododo praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for efforts to revitalize the Ajaokuta steel complex, noting its significance for Kogi State and reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to reward the public’s trust in the party. He described Aiyedatiwa as a reliable candidate who can continue the growth established under the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who passed away in December 2023.
Ododo expressed confidence that the Ebira, Igala, and Okun communities would fully support Aiyedatiwa, anticipating a strong turnout at the polls.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the importance of unity among the various ethnic groups in Ondo State and promised to create more opportunities for non-indigenous communities if elected. Kogi State APC Chairman Abdullahi Bello, who accompanied Ododo, praised the cooperation between Kogi indigenes and Ondo residents, believing it would lead to significant votes for Aiyedatiwa.
During a courtesy visit to the Ohinoyi of Anebira in Owo, His Royal Highness Adayi Isa Ahmed expressed his pleasure in hosting Governor Ododo and assured that the Ebira community would support Aiyedatiwa. He commended the governor for appointing five members of the Ebira community to positions in his administration and promised an even greater voter mobilization than in the previous election.
The rally in Owo was attended by members of the Ebira community from various localities across Ondo North Senatorial District and other regions of the state.
