FUEL PRICE TSUNAMI: NLC Warns of N5,000 Per Litre Apocalypse
In a dire and ominous tone, Benson Upah, Spokesman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has sounded the alarm that Nigerians may soon be forced to pay a staggering N5,000 per litre for petrol.
This comes on the heels of the recent fuel price hike, which Upah vehemently condemned as a betrayal of the agreement between the NLC and President Bola Tinubu’s government.
“The Federal Government’s claim that subsidy was restored is a blatant lie!” Upah exclaimed in an interview with Weekend Trust.
“What justification can they provide for hiking the pump price from N650 to N1,500 or N2,000? It’s a clear sign that Nigerians are in for a rude awakening. We may soon be paying nothing less than N5,000 per litre for fuel. It’s a grim prospect, but the writing is on the wall!”
Upah’s warning is a clarion call to Nigerians to brace themselves for the worst. The NLC’s stance is clear: the fuel price hike is a betrayal, and the consequences will be catastrophic if left unchecked.
Will the government heed the warning, or will Nigerians be forced to endure the harsh reality of N5,000 per litre fuel? Only time will tell.
